Auto & General SEA embarks on a cloud transformation journey with Logicalis
The Customer
Launched in 2016, Auto & General Southeast Asia (SEA) has quickly expanded its presence with two new business ventures: Budget Direct Insurance in Singapore, a digital firm offering car, motorcycle, and travel insurance; and EasyCompare in Thailand, a top car insurance price comparison website and non-life insurance broker serving both individual motorists and the larger community. Part of a leading international group that caters to millions of policyholders globally, Auto & General SEA is making waves as a burgeoning digital start-up in the insurance sector.
The Challenge
Auto & General SEA found the conventional, onsite management of services by the current vendor to be inefficient. The lagging response times for handling changes and resolving issues resulted in significant hurdles in meeting their delivery schedules. Furthermore, the existing solution lacked reliable and experienced resources with unsatisfactory customer support.
The Solution
Recognising Logicalis as the solution partner in their digital transformation endeavours, Auto & General SEA embarked on a cloud transformation journey with the goal of achieving quicker turnaround times, service optimisation, and significant cost savings through migration to a public cloud platform. Auto & General transitioned their existing hosted data centre from their private cloud provider to the Microsoft Azure cloud hosting platform.
The Result
Logicalis Global Service Operations (GSO) team provided Azure managed services by onboarding Auto & General SEA on its state-of-the-art Digital Services Platform (DSP) to meet Auto & General’s requirements in terms of performance, security, cost optimisation and continuous evolution.
Auto & General SEA's shift to the Azure platform opened up a world of improvements. Their queries were addressed faster, ensuring that they met crucial delivery deadlines. The smooth transition of workloads to Azure not only boosted scalability but also paved the way for additional workloads to be migrated in the future. Furthermore, efficiency was at its peak, optimising operational costs.
Auto & General SEA wanted to build a resilient and secure cloud platform, complying fully to the applicable local MAS, PCI-DSS and PDPA requirements, while also meeting internal policies. The solution presented by Logicalis was robust and ensured flexibility, agility and greater portability. While current workloads were transitioned to the cloud with ease, they deployed reusable frameworks, that can be used in future as well."
